As America approaches our Thanksgiving holiday, I am literally filled with GRATITUDE! First, I am both amazed and grateful that I have just passed the first year of my Loving Yourself Lean “Love Notes” to all of you! I’m amazed that I managed to find something to share each week, and grateful that you have been reading and responding to what I’ve written!
I am SO grateful for the journey I’ve taken in my life. Even though there were many challenges along the way, the KEY ingredient that helped me get through all of it, and continues to serve me today, is being GRATEFUL! And, I would not change ONE single moment or day, since it has made me into the person I am today…and I’m SO grateful for the gifts I’ve been given to help those who really want to experience PERMANENT change in their lives!
There is something wonderful, even magical, as we walk through life feeling grateful. I spend time, almost every single day, acknowledging those areas of my life I’m grateful for. During challenging times, I can remember having to really search for something to be grateful for. I would be grateful for being alive, for breathing. I was pulling out whatever I could. I would be grateful for having a bed to sleep in and a roof over my head. In fact, gratitude not only puts your life in perspective, it makes room for other things to happen!
Gratitude is an amazing practice!
I also continue to praise and have gratitude for my body! I am in awe how it works, supporting my every thought, feeling and action! And, for too many years, I took my body for granted. In fact, I still take it for granted, and feel terrible when I’ve ‘fallen off the wagon’ to continue to praise and honor my body! I want my body to KNOW how grateful I am for supporting me in my life for all these years.
And I REALLY want to have a happy and healthy relationship with my body, since I want it to continue to support me for MANY more years to come!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: So what are you grateful for? How do you acknowledge gratitude in your life? I suggest each evening before going to sleep, have a little journal by your bed and count your blessings! If you list at least 5 items a night, in a very short time, you will notice you wake up with a little more energy, and a more optimistic attitude to begin your day! Then, first thing in the morning, set your intentions for how you want to FEEL, BE and what you want to DO!!
Have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving, and may all your days be filled with an abundance of gratitude!!
