THE FLU AND YOU!
I want to thank those people who joined me earlier in the week for my Loving Yourself Lean teleseminar! It seems SO many people are getting hit hard this winter with flu, colds, bronchitis, etc.! I hadn’t been knocked down with anything for years, and this year I was “down for the count” two different times. I am not a doctor, so please follow their guidance first. But I want to share my experience of what has helped me get back into the swing of things again.
During the first round, my energy was very low for over three weeks. That, combined with my travel schedule, had me sitting, lying and not moving my body AT ALL! So this second round, I decided to approach things a little differently. I believe when sickness happens, the body is trying to get rid of what doesn’t belong there! So I decided to try a little experiment.
I decided I was going to support my body in getting rid of whatever was not supposed to be inside of me! And the way I decided to do that was to make sure I drank more water and move my body a little more. So I set the alarm on my phone to go off every hour. That was my cue to get up, move around and drink some water. And I also used my Loving Yourself Lean healing process (yes, this is probably the ‘secret ingredient’ to the equation)! I had not paired my process with movement and was amazed at the synergy of combining the two!!
Well, it may be a coincidence, but I’m feeling MUCH better today. Yesterday, I just walked around my home for a bit and took my dog for very short walks outside (I think the fresh air was also very helpful!). This morning I began my day by getting outside for a very short walk with my dog. However, today I was able to get on my mini trampoline for a few minutes each hour. And I feel GREAT!
So whether you have the flu or not, this is a nice and easy way to make sure you are better supporting your body! I am not able to do this EVERY hour, but I can certainly put this practice into place more often than what I was doing. I can now jump on my mini trampoline in-between client appointments and also in the evening!
I’m encouraged, because these small steps are getting me started to move my body more. I’m also excited that I’ve started using the Loving Yourself Lean process WHILE I’m moving!! And you can do the same! It’s much easier to commit to a few minutes at a time, rather than having to get to the gym, or even go for a long walk. However, I will warn you….if you begin doing this…you may actually WANT to be doing more!
