I typically write about ways that can uplift and inspire you to take good care of yourself. Today my words are written with a heavy heart. I just found out a good friend of mine is very ill. And in honor of her, this is what I want to say to you today….
Our lives are literally a gift from the heavens, yet most of us take our lives for granted. We think “maybe I’ll get to that tomorrow,” or “when _____ happens, then I’ll do ______.” Or what about that argument you had, a grudge that you are holding, or simply putting off visiting a friend, telling someone how special they are to you?
And what about how you are taking care of yourself? Are you REALLY taking good care of yourself? Or are you taking that for granted, too…that your body is going to be able to sustain the lifestyle you are currently living? Are you getting regular check-ups with your doctors? Too many people put that off, too. Even though I believe in holistic approaches to health….our medical community can also support us in many ways. Modern medicine has it’s place, too.
So, I encourage you to take a really honest look at how you are taking care of yourself. No more denial! I’m not just talking about the pounds your body may be carrying. I’m talking about the way you are caring for yourself!
If you have foods in your house that doesn’t support your health…get rid of it! And if you find you don’t want to….that’s a good place to explore WHY NOT! What about taking quality time for yourself, to spend time in quiet, simply connecting to yourself and this divine world we have the gift of living in. Are you drinking enough water? Getting enough exercise? We live very sedentary lifestyles today and moving your body takes deliberate planning and execution! And what about having some fun? is that something you give yourself on a regular basis? Maybe that fun is spending special time with your family or friends. Quite honestly, that”s what I enjoy the most.
I hope you honor and celebrate the magnificent being that you are…and cherish your moments even more….and make it a priority to REALLY take good care of yourself! REALLY! We never really know when are time here on earth is up…so really take even better care of yourself and make more of your moments count!
